The Knockout Red Rose (PP#11836, AARS 00) flowering rose hedge - Florescent fire-engine red color, 3 – 3 ½” blossoms in cool temperatures to deep dense pink in the heat of the summer. Pictured is our Knockout Rose hedge at home. Two year old growing plants. Picture taken October 1st, 2006. This is the absolute 1st choice for a lowest-maintenance, disease resistant, red shrub rose. The Knockout rose is also designated as the 2004 ARS Members’ Choice by the American Rose Society.
An amazing feature about Knockout Rose is its outstanding blooming capabilities. It blooms profusely from early spring to the last frost in late fall. Knockout rose thrives in humid climates where most other roses need spray and maintenance and is also very winter-hardy, even in windy areas, from zones 4-10.
When planted early in the season, new plants produce impressive, repeat blooms the first year. It matures as a well-behaved shrub up to 4 ft. x 4 ft. The dark purplish green leaves, as well as the blooms, are so tough they actually resist Japanese beetles. The foliage turns an attractive burgundy in autumn. Orange-red hips last into winter and are attractive to birds.
Our Knockout Roses are shipped in ONE GALLON size containers, and are not to be confused with starter plants offered by other vendors.
Purchase in quantities of 3, 5, or 10 plants per order.
