NEW! Achillea millefolium 'Terra Cotta', an Ernst Pagel introduction, is a clumping perennial reaching a mature height of thirty inches, upright, & spreading to near two feet before it needs to be divided.
'Terra Cotta' is a selection of our native yarrow that has multicolored flower heads ranging from salmon-peach to pale yellow-orange to terra cotta all appearing at the same time. Flowering is all summer if dead-headed often. Will grow to 30 inches tall, and foliage is silvery in color. Wants full sun, average to dry soil. They are deer resistant, tolerant of a wide range of soils, and actually seem to prefer sandy infertile soil.
Plant 2 foot apart and it will fill in the first year. Can be used as ground cover and if used as ground cover it can be mowed off in the fall. Planting zones: 3-8. Bloom time June – September.
Garden Care: Achillea is a joy to the gardener for its undemanding adaptive nature and its eagerness to perform abundantly throughout the summer. The foliage is fern-like and aromatic. Keeping this plant out of heavy moist soils, dividing every 2 years and removing the spent flowers assures months of continuous color.
It wants full sun & very little water, in soil with sharp drainage. They do not require fertilizing, & will become floppy rather than flowerier if fed.

Introducing, exclusively for Greenwood Nursery Club members and customers,
our NEW STEP–UPS ™ Perennial Plant collection.
What are Step-Ups ™? – Our perennials are cultivated and grown with an accelerated system. They are started in small containers, transplanted to quart containers, and then transplanted again to ONE GALLON SIZE CONTAINERS. This expands the root system, making our plants perform like a two year perennial the very first year. Step-ups ™ perform the first year you plant them.
