Grass Dallas Blues - Panicum virgatum Dallas Blues PP#11202 - Considered by many to be among the finest of our native ornamental grasses! ‘Dallas Blues’ has the same great powder blue foliage as some of the best Panicums but as a bonus the foliage clump is topped in early September by large, finely-textured, purple-tinged flower panicles that hover over the foliage like a cloud. Seed plumes persist throughout winter, providing visual interest as well as food for birds.

Talk about fall color, this pastel really adds interest in the garden. Everybody who buys this comes back and raves about it! Great brown winter color and movement in a breeze.

Tolerant to heat and humidity, this cultivar also grows nicely in the drier western US. Give this big boy room to grow. It likes lean-to-average soils. Once established grow on the dry side; this intensifies the blue foliage.

Dallas Blues is used for accent, group or mass plantings – great for perennial borders, wild gardens, native plant gardens, prairies, meadows or naturalized areas. Also appropriate for water gardens and bog gardens.

It is a clump-forming, warm season grass that typically grows in a dense, upright, vase-shaped clump to 5’ tall. You would plant 4 foot apart in the row to use effectively as a screen.

Cut back to about 6" from the crown of the plant when new growth begins to appear.

Our Grasses are shipped in ONE-GALLON containers, full root system, ready to plant, and start growing. Not to be confused with divisions, or field grown liners.

Offers: 1, and 3 plants per offer.
