These very finely woven baskets are handcrafted by artisans in the Northern Region of Ghana, West Africa. While farming supplies the majority of the income in the region, basket weaving provides supplemental income during the dry season. Many of the weavers are women and the extra income helps provide daily necessities for their families.
Each basket is unique, so colors and designs will vary.
The basket shown is large and sizes will run approximately 15 X 9 X 9 inches.
Our baskets are environmentally correct while adding glamour to your shopping experience and perfect for all around activities such as beach totes, lunch baskets and, in a pinch, a brief case. This basket works great as storage between the seats in a car. No more lost keys, pencils or cd’s. Holds a water bottle or canteen nicely at one end.
